1I regret purchasing this bike!
By E
I gave it a one star because that's as low as I can go on the rating. Otherwise I'd give it NO star. This bike is a complete piece of crap. The bike came in a box but yet the frame and the brake levers were scratched. It looked like someone had a great time falling and abusing the bike before they shipped it. The small chainring/crank was warped, the rear derailleur was made of plastic and was broken, both shifters did not lock into gear and kept slipping, the handlebar grips slips off while riding, the seatpost slides down no matter how tight I tightened the clamp, both rims and the freewheel were wobbling, and the right pedal makes a popping noise. Wait there's more! The rear axle is slightly bent! How on earth do you get a bent axle on a brand new bike? The rear wheel keeps on slipping out of alignment. The only reason why I did not return is because I did not want to pay shipping for a box that's over 40 lbs and my daughter wanted to go for a ride on her new trailer, so I decided to fix the bike myself (very unwise) and purchased all of the components that I needed to replace. Now the bike is functional but the rear wheel still slips out of alignment which makes it harder to pedal. I made a mistake buying this bike online. But I will not be making that mistake again. This bike is not worth $200. I will be buying a bike again but it will be from a local sporting goods store. I do not blame Amazon (I love Amazon and shop through them a lot), I blame the manufacturer and the company that built or distributed this bike.-Update- I have managed to keep this bike in working order, but now the fork rattles vigorously everytime I squeeze the front brake as if it wants to snap or break. It so bad that I now use the rear brake only. Speaking of rear brake, I have replaced all of the cables because the original rear brake cable snapped when I tried to avoid hitting a Mercedes Benz that cut me off. Fortunately the front brake was dependable enough despite the rattling problem. I replaced all of the cables because I didn't want to take a chance of another failing on me when I need it. The seat post still slides down regardless of how tight the clamp is. Some electrical tape wrapped around the post kind of solved that problem. The rear wheel still slips out of alignment even with washers, so I check it frequently and realign it when necessary. It just sucks having to carry a pair of tools every time I go for a ride. This bike is a P.O.S. and I'm stuck with it.
